The project, which spanned 16 months and employed pioneering technologies such as Java, Swift, Scala, and Apache Spark, addresses the challenges faced by traditional location tools, offering a seamless and adaptive navigation experience even in areas with spotty Internet connectivity.
Driven by a profound understanding of the customer's challenges, the dedicated team at Andersen embarked on a mission to design an intelligent parking solution supported by an innovative mobile-friendly map format. The central goal was to craft an application that easily transitions between online and offline modes, catering to the dynamic nature of urban traffic conditions.
At the onset of the development journey, the team conducted a comprehensive evaluation of diverse map formats to determine the most fitting one as the bedrock for the novel navigation concept. Once the format was selected, Andersen’s experts proceeded to meticulously define formal specifications, converting data sets and layers into a structured framework. Thanks to this critical phase, a tailored mobile route solution was created to guarantee that specific data layers and the foundational base-map layer were perfectly aligned.
Having successfully addressed the issue of a mobile-friendly format, Andersen's team of IT experts created a proof-of-concept smart car parking system. The innovative solution integrates accurate routing to POIs, encompassing pedestrian navigation from the designated parking slot. The system dynamically adapts its routes using parking data from onboard sensors to ensure real-time accuracy. The latest and most reliable information is always available to users because of this seamless integration.
The application has several notable features. It offers users a selection of available parking slots, customized according to their preferences for distance and estimated arrival time. The app determines the most efficient route to the chosen POI by considering predetermined factors like time, distance, and parking expenses. Upon parking, users are given directions to walk from the parking spot to their desired destination. If a person’s preferred parking spot is taken, they receive real-time notifications and are given alternative route options. Additionally, the app automatically sends notifications when a better parking slot becomes available, offering users the option to navigate to the newly available spot.
