Los Angeles, CA, June 12, 2019 - CoMotion LA today announced the details of its agenda-setting annual event that has become one of the world’s most important global gatherings of leaders of the mobility revolution. The 3rd edition of the event, formerly known as LA CoMotion, takes place November 14th & 15th, 2019 and will gather around 2,000 stakeholders from over 40 countries.
CoMotion LA 2019 offers both conference participants and the general public something never before seen: the world’s first new mobility corridor. Running for nearly a mile down Alameda Street in Downtown Los Angeles, the special lanes will allow people to use a wide variety of new mobility vehicles in a real-world setting, with cross traffic and pedestrians. Participating vehicles will include cutting-edge micromobility devices - electric scooters, ebikes, and one-wheels - as well as hydrogen-powered buses, smart shuttles, and the most advanced electric cars in the world. Presented in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, this will mark the first time these new technologies are demonstrated to the public on real city streets.
At the southern end of the corridor lies something equally exciting: CoMotion LA’s new home at ROW DTLA. ROW DTLA boasts over 1.5 million square feet of space and is a veritable “city within a city,” allowing an expanded CoMotion LA to have more stages, more speakers, more participants, and more thought leaders participating in charting the future of mobility. Some of the world’s most innovative mobility companies, such as Lyft, Bird, Verizon, Toyota, and Waymo will be demonstrating their latest technologies and breakthroughs in ROW DTLA’s private courts and breathtaking sky gardens.
“By moving to such an iconic location as ROW DTLA, one of the most important urban development projects in the US, we are taking CoMotion LA to the next level,” said John Rossant, founder and CEO of CoMotion. “And we are incredibly excited to be working with our friends at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation to roll out the New Mobility Corridor on Alameda Street -- it’s the first such corridor in the world for innovative mobility vehicles.”
